San Simeon

I know, it's been awhile since I last blogged but I have a good reason. I was on vacation in California and when I got back to NY work sucked up all of my time. Now that things have settled down, I can start blogging again. California was amazing and I still miss it everyday. Wanted to share some pictures I took while I was in San Simeon.

While in San Simeon, I visited the Hearst Castle, visited a winery, spent more time at the beach than I have all summer. Taking a break from being in a city and just taking time out was the perfect vacation. Also, every view was breathtaking. I took over a hundred pictures while visiting this area and even more in San Francisco, but I will share those in another post.

Lady Like Dresses

I got this dress last summer for my friend's wedding and every time I wear it I feel so put together. This was one of my favorite purchases from Anthropologie, which is my go to store for anything a bit formal. This picture was taken by my sister in front of her school's campus. We were coming back from a birthday luncheon and I convinced her to take a few snaps of me. I'm still in Southern California, as you can tell with the palm trees, and I can't wait to share my pictures from my trip with all of you.

Flying Out

I hope you all are having a great weekend. I'm currently in California helping my sister move back into her dorm. I decided to take a mini vacation and head out west and help her bring out all her stuff. I headed back home to my parents place before flying out. I prefer the comfort of being driven to the airport, instead of lugging a suitcase in the subway and trying to get to the airport. My sister was nice enough to take these pictures of me right before we left. The weather has drastically cooled down and I am very happy. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Tea Time

On Saturday evening my roommate Sheryl and I decided to go and grab a cup of tea. Since we were in Central Park on the west side we decided to go to Alice's Tea Cup. I had never been there before, but I'm a big fan of tea and scones. I ordered a lovely cup of apricot brandy tea and had it with a side of pumpkin scones and berry scones. Let me tell you about those pumpkin scones. The most amazing scones I've ever had. Soft inside, crumbly on the outside, buttery, sweet, and spicy all at once. The clotted cream was so good that I started eating it straight from the container. It was a party in my mouth. If you're a fan of tea and the likes, check this place out. It's also really cute and there's a bakery in the front of the shop if you want treats for the road.

Meet Up: A Very Stylish Picnic

On Saturday I went to a blogger picnic in Central Park. The morning started off rainy but by the afternoon the sun came out. I was so excited to go a meet so many bloggers, designers, and overall creative people. Also we were serenaded by some young men from a college swin team who got a little too close for comfort. Overall a very fun and interesting day!

Classic Trousers

As fashion week begins and designers are showing there Spring/Summer 2012 looks, I can't seem to wrap my head around the idea of looking at cloths that will not be available for many months. While enjoying my daily read of New York Magazine I decided to take a look at some of the looks that were shown. Immediately I fell in love with these images from Jenni Kayne. I've been on a crazy hunt for trousers to transition my summer looks into fall. When I saw these beauties I wanted them immediately to wear while the weather is still warm and to add sweaters as it cools down. I'm really looking forward to seeing what else will be showing. I hope you all are enjoying the live streaming available from the runways this season!

End of Summer

As the summer comes to an end I look back some fond and not so find memories. I did some travelling, spent some much needed quality time with friends, and complained a lot about the heat. I am looking forward to the coming fall and the cooler weather and all the fun layers I plan on doing. I'm off to spend some time with my family during this long weekend in Massachusetts. I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are looking forward to Autumn as much as I am. Have a great weekend!
