Paris Je T'aime

Near the end of my trip to Europe, I was able to spend three days in Paris. Those three days were spent wandering around for hours and enjoying this beautiful city. Paris is one of my favorite places to visit and there is so much to offer.

I spent a very warm Saturday exploring the cemetary Pere Lachaise. It was so beautiful and gothic. I also got to visit Oscar Wilde and see all the kisses he get's by visitors. No, I did not add to those kisses on his tomb. I'm a fan of his work, but just no.

Other than sightseeing I spent most of my time eating lot's of cheese, bread, and ice cream. I also visited multiple pastry and chocolate shops, and gorged on the famed Laduree macarons. Until the next time, I will have day dreams of my trip.

Life in Leiden

These pictures were taken on my last day in the Netherlands. I spent the day walking around with my friend and enjoying everyday life in Leiden. One of the things I love about visiting new places is watching how the people live their lives and what kinds of food they eat.

With the sun shining and a nice breeze blowing, I visited a farmers market, had drinks near the water, and ended the day enjoying a lovely dinner outside. As you can tell, sweets were also part of my day.

Afternoon in Amsterdam

I made a friend on my day trip to Amsterdam, didn't catch her name but she sure was cute. She had a bell around her neck and followed me around for a bit, until she got bored. I think cat's are naturally attracted to me, they can sense my crazy cat lady tendencies.

Enough about cat's. While spending the day sightseeing and completely looking like a tourist with my map in had, I stumbled onto this lovely vintage shop in Amsterdam. The minute I walked inside I could feel my hands going straight for my wallet. Unfortunately I did not leave with any goodies, due to being on a budget. Next time!!!

Time and Travel

You know what I love? I love visiting a friend I haven't seen in over a year and just spending time eating, drinking, and discussing all the things that have happened in our lives since we last saw each other.

On my trip to Europe, I spent a day and a half visiting with my good friend who lives in Zurich. We stayed up late into the evening sitting on her balcony drinking tea and talking about everything. The next day I was sad to say my farewells, but I had a train to Salzburg I had to catch.

I sometimes wish I could bottle op the moments I have spent with old friends, to relive them with things are not as wonderful. The same goes with pictures. When I take a picture, I am always trying to capture the beauty that I am witnessing, but after the click of my camera the picture just doesn't capture what my eyes are seeing.

When I walked into the Dom zu Salzburg the light coming in through the windows was so magnificent that it took my breath away. The picture I took from my camera just didn't capture the beauty I saw. I guess that's the limitations of my camera as well as my photography skills.

I'm Back!!!

I'm back in town and back to blogging. It's been awhile since I last posted, but I had a good reason. I went to Europe to do some site seeing and help my sister. She was studying over in France for the past year and needed an extra pair of hands to help her bring all her stuff back home. My first stop was to see my sister and bring her an extra suitcase for her stuff. Her school was in the most beautiful village on the border of Switzerland and France.

Also I got to climb a cherry tree. There's this cherry tree growing on the campus property and it was full of cherries. My sister wanted to make some cherry limeade so we went cherry picking. I got this brilliant idea to climb to the top of the cherry tree, and I did. I haven't climbed a tree since I was a kid, but it was like I had never stopped.

Anyway, here are a few pictures from the start of my trip. I will share the rest throughout the week with you all.
